My Why?  Why Now?

Welcome to my online home, which is a new venture for me. My name is Bill Wingate, and I hope to inspire and encourage you through my life experiences so far.

Why?  Good question!

For the past 27 years, since I was 20 years old, I have been dealing with heart issues.  Based on what we know now, it is congenital heart disease.  Since 1997, I have had four open-heart surgeries, had seven valves replaced, 1 valve repaired, and endocarditis and rhythm issues on occasion.  It has been a wild ride, and I have learned a lot about myself, the medical system, and the value of treating everybody with kindness and respect.
